My tutorial about how to use your body combat / boxing wraps. Recorded using W850. NOTE: I only use this setting for Les Mills’ Body Combat classes, a NO BODY CONTACT cardio workout.

you’re better off wrapping your hands properly. i tried it your way just then and there’s not enough hand and wrist support. i guess it’s more for the motivation factor as appose to wrapping your hands to protect your hands

i do bodycombat, &its good to wrap your hands or put on gloves because you feel better support in your punches, hooks, uppercuts ect., and it feels more tense like if you were puching something such as a bag, you have an extra feeling to punch harder.

Guys, read the info first. It says that it is a wrapping for Bodycombat, a non-contact exercise workout! And as misterkami2 explained, it only helps to position the wrist for better movements…

  • Darkeloorde says:

    Isn’t too big your wrap?

  • misterkami2 says:

Technically, of course it’s not neccessary to use wraps in a Body Combat class. But it helps the participants to follow the movements, especially in fast techniques, like jabs. Also, it just feels better and can work as a sweatband too. As an instructor, it simply adds to the atmosphere. Some instructors use different colours to help participants that have a problem with left and right.
Doesn’t really matter how to wrap, as long as it’s comfortable, and not cutting off circulation.

why wrap your hands for a no contact sport?

  • CircleOfABuse says:

never EVER wrap your pinky or ring finger. they are set off on a different angle than the other two fingers. so when trying to reinforce it, instead you make it easier to break them.
