All true. But a couple things going on. I have a 9-12 week cycle, and I think that if you have more than 2-3 meets a year, it is hard for a natural athlete to properly peak that many times. When I do my cycle, rather than regular training, that is in the evening, not lunchtime, and then I am not getting home until after seven. Everyone else has eaten, and it is time for the kids to go to bed. That’s a lot to ask of my family for too long!

to continue improving at anything you have to work at it and make it a priiority, i can’t imagine not livng the fitness lifestyle all year around. When youmake it a priority you find the time….. most of us have work and family and other obligations as well…… when you set goals it is applicable in all aspects of life and everything works out from a timing perspective

You really are at PL ground zero. Travel is an expensive way to lift, but I hope to travel to a meet next year. Also, between work and family, I don’t know if i can squeeze in more serious training cycles (other than my usual off-season stuff).

you are correct in PA we have a ton ofmeets and so does neighboring states, MD, NJ,and VA…. for me though I like progression……… local to support certain promotors, and state and then regional and national meets…….. what comprises regional to you? You can also always fly to national meets……. or there is always IPF in Canada.

You are fortunate to have access to so many meets. I love living here, but one down side is that we have two meets a year – if you miss one you are hosed!

Good for you! It is awesome fun, but I had some nasty cold/flu issues this cycle, and a sinus infection all last week. Now for some rest, and to have a new baby!

  • rhsalaska says:

Thanks! Good luck yourself on 12/5.
