March 3, 2009 Today is the first day I’ve ever tried belt squats. Having no belt squat setup at my gym, I decided to ghetto rig one using jump stretch bands, a weight belt, the power rack, some dumbbells, and a couple standing blocks. Advice for anyone who wants to try this in the same way: watch out for your boys. I did a number on mine before this video, and it hurt…a lot. Also, please excuse my hands on the rack. I wanted to make sure I didn’t fall backwards and bust my head open. I assure you they weren’t there for assistance, just as insurance against skull-busting. The bands used: 2 Blue, 2 Green, 2 Purple by Jump Stretch.
