I was told that while wearing gloves or straps while weight lifting you will have weaker forearms

The only reason I use them is to protect my hands getting callous.

Does it actually make any difference?


Did an exclusive arm training day today. I started with Dumbell Curls and I worked up to 3 sets with 61 lb dumbells. For some reason these type of dumbells seem a lot heavier than the 60’s in the gym (not sure why – maybe the length of the dumbell bar?). Anyway, that’s all I have to work with at home and they worked just fine. Then I did some Barbell Curls with my short bar (30 lb bar). Triceps had me PR with 161 lbs x 3 reps and a very close PR single with 171 lbs (sooo close). I couldn’t quite keep the form…oh well, next time! I finished up with Lying Tricep Extensions for a few sets. That’s it…
