I read that you need to lift them every two to three days because you need to give your muscles time to recuperate or you could damage or injure your muscles. Is this true and is it safe to lift every day?

I am 29 with a low risk pregnancy, and I am just at 14 weeks. My arms are starting to get a little flabby from the weight I’m gaining, and I’d love to tone them up. I have little 3 lb freeweights I could use, but want to know if they are safe. Anyone know?
