I am a cross country runner so I think im ok in that area. I just want to know how many pushups and situps i should be doing daily to prepare me for bct. how many should i do each set?
Everyday Do 3 sets of 10 pull ups, 3 sets of 50 push ups, and 3 sets of 50 crunches daily. And then do as many pull ups, push ups, and crunches you can until muscle failure two days out of the week.If you have any more questions just ask.Good Luck!
Prepare as much as you really want.
BCT from the outside looking in seems difficult.
It’s Not.
I think you need to do like 17-25 (for males) in each event before they bus you across the tracks to BCT.

do about 50 push ups and situps about twice a day every day for 2 weeks then rest you should be very sore. eat alot of protien. once you gain these stregnths its easy to lose it. so try to maintain them. if you think this is to much its probly about what bct will be like.

This all depends on how soon you are leaving for BCT.
Start off with 5 push ups and 5 sit ups every morning and again right before you got to bed for a week. Exclude the weekends.. then bring that number up by 5 each week. Just like long distance running – I’m sure didn’t happen for you over night.. you got to get your body ready a little bit at a time.
Good Luck & Thank You for serving..

Since I answered a question you were asking about West Point a few days ago, I think you mean CBT (Cadet Basic Training) at West Point not Army BCT(Basic Combat Training); in which case the expected level of fitness is much higher and not really in the same ballpark. My suggestion would be to prepare for Marines OCS and you will be beyond well prepared. Since you are a cross country runner, you should be able to start the Marines OCS 8 week workout.
