I noticed that many times when they are at the gym.None of the women do free weights. If they do the max they do is 30 lbs or so.Why is that?
Even 99% of man who lift cant look like mr.olympia.My buddy who is been bodybuilding for 10 years look no where near olympia.I been training for 1 year and in 11 years i dont think its possible to be like olympia.

I’m going to be honest.. First of all, I’m not strong. I could not do 30lbs at all, and second I’m scared of looking really bulky.. I do the equipment but just want to burn the fat around the arm not get a big old muscle.. and I also think that some women really don’t know what to do with free weights! Like, they aren’t sure what exercises to do and how. Just my opinion! :)

Free weights build muscle mass, and girls generally don’t want that. This is why they stick to machines and cardio to burn fat and tone up.

Because many women are under the false impression that if they use weights, they will bulk up. The vast majority of women will not gain mass by lifting weights, even heavy ones.

It’s sad that they don’t lift as it will help stave off osteoporosis in their future.

because they’re dumb and scared of ‘bulking up’ like a bodybuilder so they avoid it…when in reality none of them have the testosterone to ever have a shot in hell of that happening to them

There are many women who do free weights at our gym. But mostly, when they join a gym, they are shown the machines, and that’s what they use. I use machines mostly also, for the same reason. As far as 30 lbs – hey us womenfolk on average are weaker than men. I can’t a curl a dumb bell heavier than 15 lbs – at least not for 8 reps – and I’ve been doing it a number of years.

I use free weights all the time although the max i use is 20lb dumb-bells. I love being toned and I am a little bulky as I have a medium frame. I know exactly what you mean most girls at the gym I go to do cardio like crazy and cannot understand why they do not get toned..But I ‘d rather be ripped and toned than flabby and not in shape..

Misconception that they will turn into the She-Hulk so they keep away from it.

Women are afraid they will look like Mr. Olympia if they do free weights. What many don’t realize is that they lack the necessary hormones to build muscle like that. So lift all you want ladies, you won’t get that big.

Because somehow they think they have the testosterone capabilities to become a 200 lb monster. So they just go really light to "tone up" even though that word has no meaning.

Obviously the dudes looking like mr. olympia take roids. They can achieve what a natural body builder gets in 20 years in only 3. Keep working at it.

My mum does, but then she has been working out for over 30 years and is a certified gym instructor. I hate gyms myself and wouldn’t feel comfortable, but I do work out with free weights at home.

I think it’s either because they feel intimidated by the men or they are afraid they will get big.
