YH the powerblock may not look as cool as the select ech but is a lot smaller and convinient and overall better.

Actually, the 9.0 Powerblocks are expandable up to 130 lbs

thanks for the review. i kind of like the sound as it creates a audible rhythm for me. just ordered a pair from amazon. I looked at the bowflex selecttechs and the adjustable knob isn’t as smooth as it should be and feels like cheap construction. i also like the compactness compared to the other selectable dumbbells.

Thanks man! I haven’t dropped the blocks yet to get an idea of how they take abuse. My best guess is that an occasional drop on a gym floor or carpet would probably ok. As for the pin, I have had the same pin for over 7 months and used the blocks a few times a week. I think unless you have the pin in the wrong slots and you warp it there is not reason to replace.

Great review mate !! don’t you have to change those pins every once in a while and also they say that you cant drop it ? is that true ? I understand dropping it by accident , but what i am thinking is ” dang , i drop my dumbbells at the end of superset when i have nothing in me ?

If you have a white core it is 5lbs and moves up 5 for every plate. Good find!

I bought the same set used for 50 bucks and it was probably the best deal I had even made. One problem with mine is that they don’t have the power block weight selector chart sticker on them. How do I know how much weight I’m lifting?
Is the center core 5lbs and moves up from there as I select?

i’m trying to find the best deal on these. where did you order them from that it was 265 with shipping? and how long did it take.

Thanks, check out my new video to see details on the upgrade handle to make these 60 per hand!

Just bought a pair of PowerBlock Sport 9.0’s (replacing the Elites). These things rock, Nautilus Selectech dont even compare in build quality or ease of use. The Selectech’s were rattling peices of junk, even my girlfriend could tell they were built like crap. PowerBlocks are expandable to 130 pounds per side (260lb bench press) and are technically adjustable in 2.5, 5, and 10 pound incriments (2.5lbs but unbalanced, wouldnt make a difference for things like bicep curls). BUY POWERBLOCKS!

Thanks for the great review! It’s been hard finding a decent unbias review that isn’t sending me to a bowflex website. Great job!
