Did an exclusive arm training day today. I started with Dumbell Curls and I worked up to 3 sets with 61 lb dumbells. For some reason these type of dumbells seem a lot heavier than the 60’s in the gym (not sure why – maybe the length of the dumbell bar?). Anyway, that’s all I have to work with at home and they worked just fine. Then I did some Barbell Curls with my short bar (30 lb bar). Triceps had me PR with 161 lbs x 3 reps and a very close PR single with 171 lbs (sooo close). I couldn’t quite keep the form…oh well, next time! I finished up with Lying Tricep Extensions for a few sets. That’s it…

Thanks bro – it’s taken a lot of time to accumulate all this stuff, but it has been well worth it….

That guy’s not really that big bro….more ripped than anything. He is training for something completely different – more for muscle hypertrophy than for strength gains. Also, he is doing really high reps to get shredded. On a strength phase he can probably go quite a bit heavier. It just depends what you are trying to accomplish….

How come this guy is so big. And he’s training with only halve weight of yours with not even the right tevhnique at the end. Is this just genetics? I train with 14 kilos and im far from his seize.

Good point – thanks for the comment.

  • mark88bon says:

because you can take more weight down than the way up.

  • mark88bon says:

If you cheat the way up. You should bring the weight slowly down to activate more muscle else a “cheat” wont be effective.

That’s a good point – both are good for the biceps. Thanks for the comments bro (I was a gymnast for a little while as a kid).

your a strong mofo lol, nice set up dude. if you want big bis though stick with chinups bro. who has the best bicep development in the olympics? gymnasts. lots of pulling up movements.. atleast thats what I plan on sticking with.. keepin it simple

  • BRETZERR says:

Ha, ha…I wish bro…maybe one day. I don’t do a lot of chinups ever.

    Thanks for the comment though.

  • dhess6 says:

Can you do a one arm chin up? You’re very strong for your bodyweight.

  • BRETZERR says:

Yeah, they are okay for most things, but they can be a bit awkward for curling and shoulder presses once you start using heavy weights.

  • BRETZERR says:

Thanks bro – I appreciate the comment.

im getting dumbell handle bars, simply for the fact that i don’t want to spend a couple thousand dollars on a dumbell set! and dumbell handles work fine.

  • BRETZERR says:

Thanks for the great comments bro…two’s enough for me man. The last thing you want to do is overtrain them.

haha damn, i thought you said your biceps were your weak point? haha doesn’t look so!

curling 120lbs is pretty mad, in a good way. awesome stuff.

are two exercises enough for adding mass to the biceps though?
