On October 18th, 07, I pulled 585 for 11, 725 for 5 and 815 for 1 without a suit. This was two weeks after Tom McClure and I competed in the IFSA Strongman Two Man Team World Championship and one week before I competed with Team World vs team Lithuania in Lithuania.

@jdanieljones ???? lol
First off, anyone at any time can herniate a disc! Anyone this strong is always at risk. Secondly: A “deadlift suit” is not like a bench shirt! It does next to nothing for your deadlift, period! You are either strong enuff tolift the weight, or you are not.
wow wat can i say any luck with the 900 pound deadlift yet m8
well their form cant exactly be tht bad considering how strong they are. doing something right
Because he admitted he was overtraining. It had nothing to do with form, it had everything to do with too many heavy competitions too close together. If it was a question of form, then damn near every strongman would have injured backs, because the majority of them pull the same way.
well, i respect derek and his achievements, but you say he knows how to do it properly, well if that were true, why did he herniate a disc?
His lower back isn’t rounded, but his upper back is, which is a technique with correct form that only a few lifters (IE Koly) can do.
LOL, I noticed that when I was going threw his videos.
So everyone, stop giving the strongest man in American advice.
That would be a conventional stance. A sumo has wide set feet with hands close together.
LOL@ the internet nerds and geeks giving Derek Poundstone “advice”.
No you keep your back straight pal. This is Derek Poundstone(PRO STRONGMAN).
This is a professional. You should understand that there is an invisible “dont try this at home”-label all over the video…
aren’t you supposed to keep your back straight when deadlifting?
