I dont want to do bench press because of a prevoiusly torn rotator cuff.

i know what you mean man. i have a tear in my rotator cuff and it hurts like hell if i do alot of bench presses. for some reason, lying dumbell presses dont hurt it though, as long as you dont use really heavy weight bc then you take the risk of dropping the weights down to your sides and torquing that shoulder the wrong way. butterflys work outter pecs. decline bench works lower, and incline bench works upper.

    Push ups are a good workout for the chest area. Just spread out your arms a bit more when you do them to concentrate on the chest more than the triceps. Also, if you don’t like bench press, you can use dumbells while laying down flat.

    Try the weight machines instead then. The butterfly row is good for the chest in general. Inclined presses on certain machines help for the upper area, but I don’t know if that would be a risk for your rotator cuff.
