i bench press 100lbs max out . i know thats not alot. i wiegh about 126lbs and im 5 foot 9.ive been benching since december last year.
should i be able to bench my own wieght?
i heard the longer your arms are the harder it is to bench?.is this true please answer.
just so you no im 15 years old and kinda
skinny

Not sure if you can. If you can only do one rep of 100lbs then probably not. If your arms are longer, it would make sense that it should be harder since you have to push a longer distance. I weigh 185 pounds, 5’11, and my arms are pretty long and I do not find benching difficult.

My max out is 250lbs, not to brag. Obviously I had to work for it. When I was on the wrestling team, my coach told me bench the amount of weight that I can only do about 4-5 reps. At the time it was 135lbs. About a month later I move up to 155, then 175, and now 195.

So if you can do 4-5 repetitions of 100lbs, work on that for a while then move up when you can do 10 reps. It worked for me.

Your bench could be a bit higher, but you just started a short while ago, so I wouldn’t worry about it that much. As long as you continue to lift regularly, your strength will increase, along with your max bench. As for arm length, it can be a bit harder if your arms are a little longer because you have to press the weight further to lockout, but it won’t make that big of a difference. If you just find a grip on the bar that’s comfortable for you, you’ll be fine
    Hope this helps.

yeah u should be benching ideal 120-130 pounds (ur bodyweight) but it depends on how serious u take ur workouts, if u workout right, daily and take it seriously u arent improving and it isnt good, if u arent working out much than thats not bad, its good if u dont workout at all, u need to do peck decks, dumbell flys and other stuff for ur chest+ triceps to if u want to improve. i dont think thats true cause the longer ur arms r the bigger U r so it makes it even.
