I do DB bench, incline bench, decline bench, butterflies, all of those are 4 sets of 12. then, after that i do the pyramid, but a little bit different. I start out with light weight and do 2 sets of 14, then i add more weight and do 2 sets of 12 and so on til i get to, 2 sets of 4 reps. then i climb back up doing the same thing, but this time i decrease the weight til i get back to, 2 sets of 14, with my starting. after i do push ups(4 sets of 15), finally i work my triceps. this kills but works

The bench press is a chest workout. Your triceps are used in the bench press, but it is mainly a chest workout. Building up your triceps doing skull crushers and dumbell extensions behind your head will boost your bench press.

Uh, yeah…no. Someone said the bench press was for biceps, and IT’S NOT.

  • firepanther7777 says:

Bench press works the chest, should and triceps at the same time. The triceps is part of your upper arm. The biceps the the other part.

If you want to gain size and strength, don’t pyramid. Warm up carefully with light weight, when go heavy and keep it there. Otherwise you will overtrain and thwart your development. For those who want to get stronger or bigger, go for a pump, not a burn.
