whats the point of that video if u dont have side view? geez cuz
@mensacyclist yea gibz101 should post a vid, idk why they hate n can’t back it up
@Gibz101 i feel sorry for the people you instruct
@Gibz101 …Lets not forget that Olympic lifters have been squatting “ass to grass” with their kness FAR beyond their toes for a hundred years. And they are using more weight than you and I combined can squat. Watch a baby or child squat down to pick something up. Their knees will be out in front of their toes. Sorry, but it’s the way the body works. Asking someone to keep their knees behind their toes while squatting is like asking a runner to keep his arms at his sides while sprinting.
@Gibz101 ….You get 100 people together and have each one squat w/ a barbell that has significant weight on it. If 10 of them can keep their knees behind their toes I’ll give you my house. That silly bit of misinformation that you have so dutifully memorized is nothing more than crap that some exercise physiologist spewed some years back with no real world knowledge of squatting. It sounds nice in THEORY but few can do it….except on a smith machine or hack squat machine.
@Gibz101 ….one quick look at any of my videos will show that I am most definitely NOT a bodybuilder. You keep “avoiding injury” but don’t be shocked when years have passed and you have nothing in the way of gains. People like you always obssess over form so they can distract attention from the fact that they have no muscle and can’t move any serious weight. Criticizing the form of a guy who has been lifting for decades and can lift twice as much as you in any lift is just retarded.
@mensacyclist Well being a gym instructer myself and YMCA teach it that way so avoid the risk of injury, and i have never seen anyone fall backwards from keeping knee’s behind toes.
You may be a body builder, but doens’t mean you know best about your body and technique.
@Gibz101 Last time I checked squats were done to BUILD MASS….not “strengthen the knee joint”. And as far as “knees behind the toes”……98 out of 100 people simply can not do that in the real world without falling backwards. While you have clearly read some books and learned to repeat what you’ve heard in an effort to sound knowledgebale, you obviously don’t have a lot of real worl experience w/ squats. POST A VIDEO……show us how it’s done.
@mensacyclist He is right. Locking joints puts ADDED stress on joints and should be avoided. During weight lifting do try not to hyper extend the joint (Keep the lock off in other words)
And just to prove you wrong further, weight lifting with light weight, high reps helps strengthen your joints.
During a squat theres simple rules to follow. Straight Back, Knees ‘Behind’ Toes, Lead with the shoulders and go down to 90Degree bend in the knee joint.
Dude he is doing a nice clean squat….. I’m in high school and the thing that most people don’t understand like older people who think doin a lot of weight is so awsome it really not that important….a beast once said never sacrafice weight for technique…..
this one time i did a squat and i got piles
hey at least this guys going all the way down like you should..most people go a 1/4 of the way down which actually puts more stress on the knees..
Don’t be stupid. The fucking video is called Proper Squat Technique. Why does it matter how much weight he is lifting? It doesn’t.
last time i checked walking puts stress on the knee joints. you know what JBLACKAPPLE was saying smart ass. you are supposed to push your hips forward slightly instead of locking your knees, watch an old arnold video
But not to dog your video but look at your footing placement with your shoulders. your body isnt squared up and your “Twisting” in your squat … just FYI
get shit on
“and not to be a critic or anything but locking out like that puts stress on the knee joint “……
Last time I checked, SQUATS put stress on the knee joint. If someone is wanting to avoid stress to the joints they might want to take up water polo.
everyone does perfect form when they’re only squatting 135…and not to be a critic or anything but locking out like that puts stress on the knee joint
basically what he’s demonstrating is ass out, keep your feet flat on the ground, lower the weight slowly, and raise up quickly
esta muy bien good
thanks
