www.TheBestWayToExercise.com trains you to train yourself. Best Biceps Curl Hand Position “In my previously-posted video, The Best Exercise Tip for a Dumbbell BICEPS Curl, I explained how turning your palms upward during the curling motion fully engages the biceps muscle. In other words, your biceps can work harder when your palms are facing straight up. Lets take this principle to the gym, by watching Joe Six-Pack do a popular exercise, a curl with an EZ-curl bar. Instead of his palms facing straight up, they are now facing slightly inward making it a little easier on the wrists, but also a little easier on the biceps. With an EZ-curl bar, the biceps are never fully contracted and, in Joes case, the shape of the bar also forces his hands to be a little too far apart. If you really want to fully contract your biceps during curls, which you should, youre probably better off going with a straight bar instead. Youll be able to position your hands in line with your elbows and shoulders and also assure that your biceps muscles are fully contracted, because your hands are fully supinated, or palms up, throughout the entire movement. So whats the point? A bent bar isnt bad; its just not the best!” Hire a $500/hr professional personal fitness trainer for 50 cents a day. @alucardwillfreed14 Please, make no mistake, my friend, what I am saying is the negative is “too long”. A “long” negative is a good thing, helps you maintain form and strech out your muscle, as well as making the muscle work throughout the whole motion and not only in the positive phase. But in my opinion it is exaggerated here. I would usually aim for 3 to 1 ratio (negative / positive), and, most importantly concentrate on an explosive positive phase, which he neglects here also.

@dan7edan7e out of curiosity, why would a long negative be a bad thing? I thought doing long controlled negatives was a good thing. Not challenging u, just wondering. I do agree with u 100% about the back swinging though, creating momentum with your back will cheat u out of a lot of good bicep results.

  • dan7edan7e says:

…. negative is way to long…. swinging with his back to start the bar going up… relaxing the biceps to all way down position…. BASICALLY, F-ING SHITTY FORM… stop trying to educate people if u dont know nothing urself !!!

    @fitnzcom
    interesting suggestion

  • fitnzcom says:

… (finishing my reply) and grab EZ bar on it`s very first curve (videoguy holds it on the second ones) – your wrists will be fully supinated (almost turn inside out) and now do your curls – u gonna feel the difference. the same trick works great with curls using preacher (Scott`s) bench.

  • fitnzcom says:

hi guys… getting sick of people misusing EZ-bar… yep i know u can take some tension off your wrists (for some people that`s important due to their bone structure) and yes u can hit your biceps short (outer) head using it and yes a straight bar is better for overall development.
Yet there is a way of using EZbar to turn it into real killer – instead of holding it as on this video, move your wrists close to each other, right next to that shiny bit in the middle and… (read my next post)

@ChaarlieFTL I agree … but if they are so bad then why do you watch them????

  • yeagemk says:

Nice advice from your ACE training manual, you faggot. An EZ curl bar is a great way to hit your biceps/brachialis from a different angle. Why would you suggest not doing it? Oh yeah, I forgot….You dont workout! Tool.

@iTooGodly to me thats to much
i used to train as much now i killed it a bit and i get a better pump

  • rikyd says:

@iTooGodly your mon and fri are far too full. you wont see good gains if you’re trying to cover all those muscle groups in one workout, you will fatigue and wont be able to lift nearly as much weight as, for example, a 3 day split

  • rikyd says:

bad technique, i realise hes trying to exaggerate good form but the negative is far too long.. it should be around 2-3 seconds

    mon-biceps,forearms,triceps,chest,shoulders,traps,back
    tue-abs
    wed-legs
    thur-abs
    fri-biceps,forearms,triceps,chest,shoulders,traps,back
    sat-abs
    sun-legs

note- on mon and fri, i work my biceps and forearms in the morining and 4 hrs later i do the rest of the muscles.

is it ok to work my upper body twice? how many times would you recommend at week?
